Back in March 2020, Muppet performer/writer/producer/director, BILL BARRETTA, and children’s book Author-Illustrator/character designer/animator, GENE BARRETTA, decided to turn their pandemic downtime into a reason to work together again. So, they started a Vodcast/Podcast and invited friends and co-workers to come on, have lots of laughs, and talk about All things Muppets & More.

Fortunately, that list of guests turned out to be Muppet performers, writers, builders, producers, directors, artists, and fans. As well as some of your favorite celebrities who have worked with The Muppets, including Ricky Gervais, Danny Trejo, Bobby Moynahan, Jon Voight, Tom Bergeron, Alton Brown, and David Arquette.

If you’re a fan of The Muppets, Sesame Street, and projects by The Jim Henson Company, this program is a must!

WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?

As kids, it was not unusual to see Gene and Bill dressed up in homemade costumes – filming Super 8mm dramas – attempting risky stunts in the ravine – animating GI Joes and weird-looking clay figures – building and performing clunky puppets – drawing offbeat comics, – and imitating The Beatles.

Today, life isn’t very different. In addition to personal projects and various acting roles, Bill has been a director, writer, producer and core performer with The Muppets for over 30 years. Gene has been writing and illustrating acclaimed and award-winning children’s books for over 20 years. He has also animated and illustrated for Sesame Street, Between The Lions, and The Jim Henson Company.

The best part of their careers is that they occasionally get to work together! Unfortunately, no one will pay them to imitate The Beatles.
